Plymouth Maple Festival

Date: March 7, 2015
Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location:
10 Park St
Plymouth, CT 06782

Celebrate the New England tradition of making maple syrup on the Plymouth Green. Discover how to identify sugar maples, use an old fashioned drill to tap them, insert the spiles, hang the buckets, watch the sap drip out. Listen for the pinging sound of sap hitting the metal pail. Watch sap being boiled into syrup on an outdoor fire. Sample maple sugar and sugar on snow.

In the Congregational Church Fellowship Hall, there will be maple baked beans, maple hot dogs, and maple ham for sale while listening to traditional acoustic music.  Connecticut Grown products such as maple syrup and maple sugar candy can also be purchased.

There will be a historical scavenger hunt, children's games at the Congregational Church, and a magician at the First Baptist Church of Plymouth at 4 North Street.  If there's snow, make a snowman!

Admission is free.

The Plymouth Green, located at 10 Park Street, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
