Location: Plymouth Green, 10 Park St.

The Memorial Day celebration on the Plymouth Green will take place on Sunday, May 24 at 11am. This year’s theme will be the Civil War. In addition to the traditional recitation of the Gettysburg Address by the 5th graders of Plymouth Center School and music by the school bands, this year’s event will renew an old custom- a community picnic on the Green. Instead of a parade, residents will be invited to stay on the Green after the ceremony for free hotdogs and refreshments provided by the Fire Department. The public can bring lawn games and make a day of it. Also, at 12 noon, there will be a free tour of the historic Green. The tour will begin in front of the Burying Ground.
