Registration Requirements


The Town of Plymouth, per Connecticut statutes, uses the Federal guidelines and application form for voter registration purposes.

To summarize those requirements, in order to register to vote in the Town of Plymouth, you must:

be a resident of the Town of Plymouth

be at least 17 years old (you must be 18 to vote)

Registration forms may be picked up and returned, or mailed in to the Registrar, at:

Or, you may pick up and/or drop off registration forms at any Department of Motor Vehicles office or Public Library. The registration form must also be used to change your name and/or address on your current registration, or to enroll in or change your party affiliation.

If you work or are out of town during regular business hours, you can be made a voter in any Connecticut city/town for the city/town you live in. (Cross-town registration).

Mailed in registration applications must be postmarked by October 22, 2013 for the applicant to be entitled to vote in the November 5, 2013 election. If you move to a different Connecticut town, you must register in your new town.

Special Voter Registration Sessions

The Registrars of Voters will hold special registration sessions in the Registrars Office, lower level of the Plymouth Town Hall on the following dates and times indicated. Contact the Registrars of Voters of Town Clerk for additional information. Corrections to your information can also be made at these sessions. Demonstrations of the Optic-Scan voting machines will also be held on the following dates.

Saturday October 19, 2013, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - Town Hall Registrar's Office (lower level)

Tuesday October 29, 2013, 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Seventh Day before election day registration session at the Plymouth Town Hall Registrar's Office. Applicants MUST appear in person.

Voter Registration Deadlines, in general, are:


Primary: Registration form must be received and approved by the Registrars of Voters by 12:00 noon on the last business day before the primary.

Election: Completed mail-in registration forms must be postmarked or received in person by the registrar 14 days before election day (October 22nd). Election day is the first Tuesday, after the first Monday in November.

Although the deadline for registration to vote in the November 5, 2013 election is 7 days prior to the election, persons who attain their eligibility to register after that date may do so. Therefore, if a person becomes 18 years of age, a citizen or a resident of the town after the 7 day cut-off, such person may apply in the office on a daily basis until 12:00 noon the Monday before election, at the office of the Registrars of Voters or Town Clerk.

Applications from servicemen and persons out of the country may be received prior to 5:00 p.m. the Monday before election.

Polling Locations - General November elections

District 1 will vote at Harry S. Fisher Elementary School, 79 N. Main St., Terryville, CT.

District 1 shall consist of that portion of the Town of Plymouth located north of State Highway Route 6 (Main Street).

District 2 will vote at The Lyceum, 181 Main Street, Terryville, CT

District 2 shall consist of that portion of the Town of Plymouth located south of State Highway Route 6 (Main Street).
