The Terryville Volunteer Fire Department is a non-profit corporation chartered by the State of Connecticut and established to provide fire protection and emergency service to the people of the Town of Plymouth. Such services include emergency response to fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous material incidents, and other related calls. The Terryville Volunteer Fire Department is also extremely active with Fire Prevention programs. These programs are offered to elementary schools, cub scouts, senior citizens groups and special groups as needed. At the present time, we have 95 regular members. The Plymouth Volunteer Ambulance Corps was established in 1968. The department provides around the clock emergency medical services to people who live, work, and visit the Town of Plymouth. There are about 30 volunteer EMT's (Emergency Medical Technicians) and EMR's (Emergency Medical Responders). The PVAC Bike Team provides EMS services for events and parades to increase response time in crowded environments.

The town will pre treat roads with an Enhanced Deicer when frozen precipitation is forecasted. The purpose of pre treating roads is to prevent precipitation from bonding to the road, and to facilitate melting of the precipitation as it falls. Enhanced deicer will continue to be used during the storm event as required.
